Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for millennia.
All of the acupuncturists that have been included in our directory have been vetted by us to ensure that they have the proper qualifications, and license, to practice in the state in which they are listed. Currently, 47 states regulate the practice of Acupuncture. In the case of a practitioner who operates in a state that does not offer licensure, then we require that he or she has gained a license from a state that does offer regulation. Additionally, our review board continues to monitor each of the acupuncturists, to ensure that they maintain their license. Should it be uncovered that a practitioner has allowed their license to expire, or it has been suspended/revoked, then we remove them from the directory until such time that the matter has been remedied.
It should be noted, that our directory lists individual acupuncturists who may practice in a facility with other acupuncturists, and/or holistic practitioners that are not licensed. With that having been said, it is important that you confirm that an individual (one who is not listed in our directory) that you would like to make an appointment with, is in fact qualified; we have seen time and time again, a practitioner, or receptionist, claim that he or she has the appropriate license, when in fact the license either does not exist, has expired, or has been suspended/revoked.
In the upper left corner of the map, you will see the word "Search" in a thin box, where you may simply type your zip code, or the name of a practitioner, and then press the "enter" key on your keyboard; the closest location's pin will illuminate in yellow. Each page will open in its own window, which makes it easier for you to compare different acupuncturists.
