Gentle Wellness Center was established in March of 2011 when Suzanne and France combined their individual businesses into one. With over 30 years experience, all of our staff is highly trained in Colon Cleansing, as well as many other cleansing modalities. Every Cleansing Professional in our office is I-ACT (International Association of Colon Therapists) certified and working towards NBCHT (National Board for Colon HydroTherapy) certification.
Colon Cleansing is a gentle cleansing of the large intestine. At Gentle Wellness, we use state-of-the-art FDA registered open and closed devices using a 3 stage filter and temperature-controlled water. The client lies on a table/basin connected to a Colon Cleansing device, with a new disposable speculum/rectal nozzle, while water gently circulates into the colon. When slight pressure builds up in the colon, the water can release. As water is flowing out through an illuminated glass viewing tube, the client can view their elimination. This process is repeated during the approximately 35-45 minute session. To ensure maximum sanitation, we use a new disposable speculum/rectal nozzle for each client. Clients wear gowns for privacy, ease and comfort during the session.
Colon Cleansing’s main strength is hydration and can impact the whole digestive system. Almost anyone can benefit from internal cleansing. Most people feel great after their session; others may feel differently according to what they have eliminated. It can be compared to deep cleaning a house…what was hidden? These effects can vary from person to person and is normally of short duration. The Associate can give more information for each personal experience.

Bio-Electric Lymphatic Drainage (BELD) can be relaxing like a soothing massage, allowing the body to go into the parasympathetic healing mode. BELD therapy uses a light beam generator which emits a stream of photons (negative ions). These are known for their antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. This light beam with a heartbeat pulsation improves the flow in blood and lymph, while simultaneously loosening waste from cells.
BELD the most recent advancement of this technology is a vibration energy technology. That means it emits energetic information to the energy field of the cells via harmonic sounds, frequencies of light and Noble Gas Ionization. This assists in the removal of toxins, poisons and trapped proteins, literally cleaning the spaces between cells and allowing waste products and toxins to slowly and safely flow out through normal channels. It is a gentle, noninvasive procedure combined with gentle manual lymph drainage and is faster and more complete than manual techniques used alone. Allowing the therapist to accomplish in a one-hour session what would take many hours without the vibration energy technology.
The client undresses and lies on a massage table under a sheet/blanket in a warm room with soft lights. “Inspiration,” has a hand-held wand that is lightly moved over the skin, producing a negative energy field which allows the blood and lymph fluid to circulate freely. The hands-on lymphatic drainage technique combination is slow, subtle, and gently sweeping movements, mimicking the natural rhythmic pumping of the lymphatic system. The result can enhance recovery rates by loosening proteins that are stagnant, causing retained fluid and congested areas to FLOW. Stagnation is reversed and the lymph system is now free to perform its normal cleansing functions!

How is a session given?
Sessions take place in a private room with a certified colon hydrotherapist. The client lies/reclines comfortably on a table, fully draped during the course of the session. The client self-inserts a disposable, hygienic speculum/nozzle into the rectum. Water is then gently introduced into the colon via a small tube, and the waste is removed via a large evacuation tube or channel. These are directly connected to the sewer system. Because of this closed system, there is no odor or mess, and privacy and dignity are not compromised. A series of water “fills” and “releases” take place during the treatment. The therapist remains in the room throughout the procedure, working with the client on various breathing and massage techniques to enhance the process.
Will a treatment completely empty my colon?
No. A mild cleanse will take 2-3 sessions, over the course of one week, depending on the client. Since we are constantly eating and drinking, the colon never becomes completely empty. The goal of colonics is to remove the fecal plaque and other toxins which have accumulated over time, not to try and completely empty the colon of normal, everyday waste.
How long is a session?
The therapist will look at your holistic questionnaire and explain the process step by step. Sessions can last from 45 – 60 minutes, depending upon the individual’s need and response.
How many sessions are needed?
This truly depends on the individual. For many people, a mild cleanse may be sufficient, while others may take more sessions to remove years of built-up toxins. The therapist will have the opportunity to assess your progress and offer suggestions for the future that accommodate your needs and objectives.
Is the water filtered?
Yes! All equipment comes equipped with a three stage, patented, water filtration system for particle removal, chlorine reduction, and bacteria and virus reduction.
Should I fast before a session?
There is no need for fasting before or after a session. We recommend eating lightly on the day of your session and staying away from carbs, fats, and dairy products. Plenty of water should be taken in the days prior to your colonic to help your body rehydrate. It is recommended to stop drinking 2-3 hours before the colonic, to prevent the need to urinate during the session.
Is the client ever left alone during the session?
No! The safety and comfort of the client is of utmost importance. They are attended to at all times. They are never left alone nor are therapists “just outside the door”.
